Ryan & Kayla North
In this engaging and interactive workshop designed for adoptive, foster, and kinship parents as well as professionals, we’ll explore how the brain develops in response to trauma and the role that connection plays in healing. You’ll learn practical tools for effective communication and deepen your understanding of attachment, as well as its impact on behaviors and relationships.
You will participate in a nurture group, which provides a hands-on approach for helping families build healthy attachment skills in a fun environment. Incorporating brain-based games, role play, and valuable assessments, the presenters will keep the workshop fun and relevant! This session is ideal for parents looking to navigate challenging behaviors in an attachment-focused way. Professionals will gain new insights into family challenges and be able to use techniques to help the families they serve.

“Gain clarity, confidence, and tools to better support families and helpers”
The child welfare system is complex. There are overlapping systems which include the legal, social, administrative, and sometimes even the criminal justice system, it's easy to see how it can become overly complex. These intersections often create confusion, burnout, and frustration. When that happens, families can miss out on the support they need to thrive, and even the most well-intentioned helpers may find their efforts frustrated.
